Then Aquaria KLCC in the afternoon — underwater pressure mechanics and the structural integrity of glass holding back a great deal of water, walked through from inside.
Batu Caves in the morning: a limestone massif four hundred million years old, read as karst formation and chemical weathering rather than as a photograph. Then the overland crossing to Singapore — hours of Johor state passing the window, with agricultural geography and soil profile changing measurably as they go. Immigration in the evening.
Science Centre Singapore runs live high-voltage demonstrations — Tesla coil electricity arcing across a room, kinetic mazes, cognitive robotics. The afternoon is an 8K digital omni-theatre astronomy masterclass on cosmic scale. Then Snow City, where a group of Indian teenagers stand in genuinely sub-zero air and study thermal dynamics and insulation physics while shrieking.
Marina Barrage is a 350-metre dam that is also a public park — flood control, drainage pumps and the closed-loop reclamation grid that lets a country with no freshwater supply its own. Then Gardens by the Bay: biomass steam turbine cooling and rainwater harvesting dressed up as a conservatory. The Spectra show closes the day as laser physics and audio synchronisation.
A full day on Sentosa where the Skyline Luge is a velocity-and-friction dataset, the rides are gravitational force problems, and the beach is a coastal erosion management case study on land the country largely built itself. Wings of Time in the early evening, then a late walk through Mustafa and Bugis reading real-time supply chain and micro-logistics.
A structural tour of Jewel Changi before departure — the architectural glass dome, and the fluid dynamics governing a forty-metre indoor waterfall that has to fall exactly where it is meant to. Final Field Research Journal presentations happen at the departure terminal, delivered to the group before anybody boards.
